About Me

FAQ’s

Are you in a relationship?

Yes, I met my husband when I was 15 and during the last 40 years (frightening isn’t it!), we’ve shared lots of great, joyful, angry and sad moments along our journey together. There have been moments along the route when we thought we wouldn’t survive as a couple and I’m so glad that we didn’t give up and we managed to cling on by our fingertips, as our relationship, respect and love for each other has grown much stronger as a result.

Have you got any children?

We’ve got two lovely sons and two very gorgeous granddaughters and we’re also lucky to have our sons’ wife and girlfriend in our lives. Weekends and holidays are often spent together as you’ll see on some of the photo’s I’ll share.

We’re part of a large extended family of unique and creative characters and they are all  important in our lives and have taught me a lot about life and about myself over the years. I hope that I can share some of my learning about relationships with you through my blog posts.

Do you work?

Yes, I was a Senior Manager in business, managing multiple services and many teams, for over 15 years. During this time, I learned how to get the best out of people and manage some fabulous transformational projects. However, last year I decided to take a leap of faith in myself and I set up as a Business and Life Inspiration Consultant. I qualified over 20 years ago as a Hypnotherapist and am also a qualified trainer and member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD). More recently I was very fortunate to be sponsored to train with Dr Richard Bandler (Co-founder of NLP) as a Practitioner in Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) which was an amazing experience.

My interest in the power of the mind and study of human behaviour continues. Check out my posts under the Personal Development category, to see some of the tips and tools, which when used can help to make a massive difference to your life.

What qualifies you to give advice to others?

I wasted a lot of breath over the years, before I eventually learned that even the most amazing advice often falls on deaf ears! Most people  need to be ready to change and to find their own solutions and we often learn our greatest lessons from the mistakes we make.

However, as a qualified Hypnotherapist and NLP Practitioner, I’ve also learned some great systems and techniques, to help make necessary  changes in our lives and take positive action toward achieving our goals and start living the life we dream of.

I’ve found that these techniques have been far more effective and much less frustrating than providing ‘great advice’ although occasionally, I still slip back into old patterns myself on occasion.. hey I’m human!..

What inspires you?

I love  spending time with my family and they’ve recently inspired me to make some significant life changing decisions to support my primary goal of living a great and happy life shared with them for as long as possible.

I’m still working on it – it’s a continuous journey and sometimes I move 2 steps forward and 3 steps back or something unexpected comes along which knocks me off course.  Fortunately I now recognise this and there’s usually a friend or family member to give me a prod to remind me that “If at first you don’t succeed, try try try again” – However, I also know that if something hasn’t worked it’s often better to try a different way next time as “If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got”…..

My learning journey into the power of the mind continues and has become a key focus in my life over the years and I’ve been able to share my learning to help others make some important changes in their own lives too. I’m so inspired by those people who have listened, learned and taken action to transform their lives!

It would be great to hear back from you so please comment on some of my posts to give me some feedback, tips and suggestions about how I’m doing..
