Who’s Winning? Is it the Negative Committee in your Head or the Whisper in your Heart?
Who’s winning in your life? We all have the ‘Negative Committee’ in our head and they’re always around to hold us back and remind you how impossible it is to live the life of your dreams … Are you listening to them? https://brilliancewithin.com/2016/06/08/the-negative-committee-in-your-head/
“You can’t do that – you tried before and failed” or “You’re not good enough – you don’t stand a chance of succeeding”
When we listen to the Negative Committee, we stay stuck in our rut. We become scared to try new things and to challenge ourselves and we worry that people will think we’re an ‘idiot’ if we try to break out of the prison we’ve locked ourselves in.

And yet somewhere whispering quietly within us, is that little voice… the one you may not hear unless you listen very closely. It’s the voice of our dreams. https://brilliancewithin.com/2018/07/22/5-top-tips-how-to-listen-to-your-heart-and-free-printable-quote/
Are you listening to your heart…
It whispers… so listen closely
Who’s winning in your life – is it your Negative Committee, shouting loud or is it your Whispering Heart?
No matter how loud your Negative Committee is shouting you have the capacity to shut it down. There are some great techniques to begin to quieten your mind. As a hypnotherapist, I’m a great advocate of self-hypnosis and meditation. Both of these techniques will enable you to begin controlling your mind, so that you can start to listen to your intuition and recognise what it is that is quietly waiting for you…
So often, we live our life habitually. We take time to design our homes or to choose all the ‘extras’ we want on our phone or our car and yet we spend NO TIME to design our life.
If you’re not experiencing the life you dream of or you’ve got stuck in a rut and you feel there’s no choice but stay there, then maybe it’s time to start listening more closely to your heart. It’s always possible to make a choice to do things differently. When we change our thoughts, we change our experience of life.
Maybe you’ve got some old beliefs that need challenging? https://brilliancewithin.com/2016/08/03/are-beliefs-holding-you-back/
There is a life of your dreams waiting for you – do you know what it is that you want? If not, taking some time to create a Vision Board is a great way to start consciously designing your life. You can read how to create your Vision Board here: https://brilliancewithin.com/2016/04/26/how-to-create-a-dream-vision-board/
In the last September of your life, will you look back with regret at the things you didn’t do, or will you remember the amazing opportunities that came your way and you took advantage of?

Who’s Winning in Your Life?
Which book cover reflects your life? If you’re living a life full of ‘crap’ then you’re definitely listening to your Negative Committee. If you want to start living a life full of ‘love, laughter and luxury’ then maybe it’s time to start listening to your heart. Luxury doesn’t necessarily mean ‘money’ – it’s whatever makes your hear sing!
What gives you a ‘tingling’ feeling when you think about it… that’s a clue about how you should be living your life and what would help you break free from the self-imposed shackles, imposed by ourselves when we listen to our negative committee.
Beautifully put ♥️

Thank you so much x
Great stuff Wendy. I’m definitely listening to the whispers of my heart, which thankfully seem to be getting louder. Every now and then that pesky negative committee tries to barge through but I’m learning how to boot them out. It’s not always easy, in fact it’s an ongoing thing, but I like to think I’m heading in the right direction. Hope you’re well. xx

That’s wonderful to hear Miriam and I think you’re right.. they may lay quiet for a while but always waiting to jump back up if we let’em… xx
I sent my committee on a holiday as they tried making all the decisions. I said: Go forth and leave me be. Now I’m back in control… 😉

Yee Haa! – They’re a powerful lot those ‘committees’ – if we don’t keep them ‘under control’ – Thank goodness you’ve given them the slip… I could feel mine knocking at the door to get back in in 2018 but I’ve added an extra padlock to keep ’em out! xx
Haha good one Wendy! And awareness through meditative practice helps me too. Thanks 🙏

Great post and video. It was when i read the book feel the fear and do it anyway, and other susan Jeffers pocket book, and understood the law of attraction and thoughts that i was able to get over so many fears and worries. I still get a few. But my daily routine of meditation and positive thinking and affirmations and just doing what fears me helps me get past it. Also my job, i have to do a lot if stuff i fear but i have to do it no choice. Additionally understanding karma and thoughts really helped. But it doesnt hapoen over nigt.
Have a great week thanks for sharing a great post

Thanks Bella, Yes – Feel the Fear and Do it Anyway was the first ‘self-help’ book I ever read and those simple words of wisdom have stuck with me ever since… Meditation is just so valuable and it sounds like you continue to push through your ‘fear barriers’ Bella – Wow! You’re right though – it’s a continual journey … I hope you have a brilliant week too!!! xxx
It’s an everyday struggle but I am learning to let the negative voice out and leave more space to the warmth of the heart’s voice… and.. I am doing less mistakes… 🤗🤗🤗

It takes time to practice but the first step is becoming aware of the voice and noticing when it starts to kick in and then you can start to flip your thoughts to something else. It’s really helpful to have a phrase that you practice using that inspires you and you can then use that when you notice the ‘negative committee’ kicking in! Great to hear from you and thanks for leaving a comment.. Practice makes perfect and it’s great that your moving in a better direction… xx
You’re so right about the phrase to tell to yourself. I have been practicing this… kind of “hey, that’s not what you need to think now, move on”… and it’s really useful…
thank you for sharing this! It’s very refreshing to see that other people go through the same struggles 🤗🤗🤗🤗

Fabulous! It’s a great strategy… This is SO common and some people never recognise that they need to change their strategy, so it’s brilliant that you have! Onward and Upward… xx
