3 MOST Important Questions To Ask Yourself – What are they?

Visualise-and-dream-big

Have you asked yourself the 3 most important questions?

According to Mindvalley Academy owner Vishen Lakhiani, there are 3 questions that take you to a higher level with your goals.
  1. What do I want to experience in my life? (If this was your last day and you were looking back over your life, what would you want to have experienced?)
  2. How do I want to grow? (What skills do you want to develop, what new habits do you want to form, what training will help you achieve growth etc.)
  3. How do I want to contribute to the World (this may be to your ‘immediate world’ – your family and friends and local community, volunteering and supporting people nearby or it may be further afield. How can you make a difference?)

Do you feel like maybe you’re living somebody else’s dreams and living up to somebody else’s expectations of you or your goals are lower level goals e.g. I want to earn more money but you’ve not attached this goal to the bigger picture of how having money will enhance your life?

Maybe you’ve never really thought about what makes your heart sing and you’re plodding through life day by day with no real sense of inner purpose or value…

If any of the above seem familiar, then these Mindvalley Academy questions really are 3 great questions to ask yourself.

To help you, Vishen from Mindvalley Academy, has put together a great 15 minute visualisation meditation, which helps you install those higher level images in your mind and to feel what it would be like to experience those things.

Try this meditation from Vishen and then pop across to Mindvalley Academy where you can get the free PDF download to help you record your visualisations. Here’s a link to their site which is full of tips and tools: https://www.mindvalleyacademy.com/

This is definitely 15 minutes well spent for me and I hope you enjoy the experience too.
Here’s a hint of my vision…

When I did this meditation, one of the experiences I visualised is driving through Italy – off the beaten track to the lesser travelled areas of the country, experiencing the wonderful authentic Italian food (and wine…), enjoying swimming in the lakes and rivers along the route. Spending some nights camping and looking up at the stars and other nights luxuriating in beautiful villas and luxury spa hotels and then visiting Rome and Venice – experiencing the Gondolas and the beautiful works of art and fountains etc. When I think about it now, I can smell the aroma of the Italian herbs wafting through the air…

I also saw myself, smiling, standing tall and speaking confidently, sharing inspiration with a group of ladies who’ve come together in a wonderful retreat at a beautiful Spanish Villa up in the hills, overlooking the sea in the distance. It’s September 2018, the sun is beautifully warm but not excessively hot and the suns rays dance across the ripples in the pool, which are created from the water fountain in the shape of a dolphin at the end of the pool.

I’m helping those ladies connect to their deepest and previously hidden goals and dreams. I’m supporting and encouraging them to create their Vision Boards and connect with their higher End Goals. I pictured myself looking slim and toned, in my cream suit (the one I’m going to buy…) with my beautiful Brilliance Within Vision Board kits and Stationery sets on the tables at my side.

I can see the beautiful Brilliance Within Folders – White and Gold, which are full of great worksheets and training notes, being written in by the ladies, who originally connected with me through the webinars and podcasts, that I deliver regularly on the Internet.

We sit around a beautiful pool at night and I can hear the laughter as we experience a sense of freedom and share our dreams. I see the difference on their faces from when they joined me at the beginning of the week, when they look drawn, nervous and in some cases depressed, to the last night where there is a glow about them, a sparkle in their eye and a beautiful relaxed smile – they look younger, healthier and energised… ready to start living their dreams and I feel love and connection with them.

Last but not least, my contribution to the World, is having the financial wealth to enable me to deliver a water pipeline to an area of Africa that struggles due to drought. I can see the water flowing in the villages, irrigating the land and bringing life back to the dusty soil, so that food can be grown there. Children are playing and laughing as they splash in the water.

I also see boxes of sanitary protection arriving for the beautiful women, who previously hid away during their menstruation, unable to go to school and many times giving up their education as a result of their embarrassment. I feel a deep sense of love as I read the words of a letter from one of the young girls, who is able to go back to school….

I’ve shared some of my dreams – what about yours?
  • These are just a few of my experiences, growth and contributions that I’m now deeply connected with.

I’d love to here what some of your experiences, growth and contributions are. Lets start a great conversation, because airing our dreams helps to make them FEEL real and possible…

This is such a great post! I truly want to answer these three questions to myself. And I so appreciate your honesty and descriptiveness regarding your dreams. Why is it so scary sometimes to speak openly about our desires and goals?

Thanks so much Sara. Yes you’re right, I kept my dreams locked so deep, even I wasn’t clear what they were for far too long… I’m getting there one step at a time and blogging has really helped me to be more open about what I want to experience in my life.. I think it’s scary because often we ‘dream’ about wanting something that takes us out of our comfort zone and so we don’t speak them out loud because then we have to start taking action and suddenly we’re finding ourselves feeling discomfort… scary or exciting?… the choice is ours depending on how we look at it. I used to look at it as scary but now I’m increasingly excited about doing things differently. I hope you are too! xx

Thanks for sharing your vision with us Wendy. I love the way you’ve painted such a clear and definite picture of what you want to achieve. I wish I could say I have the same clarity but I’m still way behind you in that area. I do have some ideas but it’s still fuzzy around the edges. What I do know is that for the first time, in maybe forever, I feel as though I’m finally being true to myself and voicing what I love with the world. And that’s gotta be a good start hey? Thank you for a thought provoking post. xo

Thanks so much Miri – we’ve definitely inspired each other throughout 2017 and long may we continue to do so! Some of that clarity came with doing the meditation and there was lots more – that was just the tip of the iceberg – yee haa – 2018 looks like it’s going to be a brilliant year for us both!!! xxx

I love the glimpse of yours vision. Having performed the meditation myself moments ago I can share that I saw myself in a beautiful home surrounded by its own land with views of the mountains, little children grabbing my hand , running ahead and a baby in my arms. My husband talking softly to us all. My daughters thrilled to be with mummy who is now a loving Granny. The growth I visualise is all around my books … I see myself walking into a bookstore through a crowd of people all waiting for me to shake their hands, spend a little time and sign the book they have bought. I see myself talking about my work to an audience that wants to listen. I see myself accumulating the wealth I need to be able to educate and help the real homeless … to give them shelter and therapy to overcome their demons and to have a project in which they can work and that this project, to be replicated in as many places as possible has the credibility to be a reference that employers will take notice of so that they can move on into their own lives. A holistic enterprise in which, rather as recovered Alcoholics do through AA they themselves can become ‘Angels’ who give back to those who have fallen into the gutter.

Oh my Osyth… THANK YOU so so much for sharing your vision. It’s beautiful, achievable and possible and from those seeds, who knows what will grow – I’m sure something wonderful!! I love your homeless vision to create living Angels – just beautiful. Thank you and bless you and your beautiful soul… xxx

Thank YOU Wendy for coaxing me into voicing it. Giving something voice brings it nearer to reality, I believe xx
