Have You Read The Book ‘Think and Grow Rich’ by Napoleon Hill?
If not, you’re missing out on some great principles for living a successful life!
Many of the great motivational gurus like Bob Proctor, Brian Tracy, Jim Rohn and Zig Ziggler based their teachings on Napoleon Hill’s book: Think and Grow Rich. Much of the content is also the basis of the modern philosophies contained within The Secret and The Law of Attraction film/books. Bob Proctor re-reads sections of this book EVERY DAY and has done so for 50 years.
They say model your role models so perhaps this would be a great habit to form too. What do you think?
Although some of the book relates to ‘sales’, it has so much content of value to our lives in general and how the power of our imagination, living life with focus and determination are the keys to success in whatever we choose to do. I realise that many times, I’ve lost my focus when probably the ‘prize’ was round the next corner and at times, I’ve become distracted with daily life and activities that moved me away from my goal and not toward it. I lost sight of my vision, until I learned about creating Vision Boards and developing a clear picture in my mind about what I wanted to achieve. Having Vision Boards keeps me focussed and acts as a daily reminder to keep me better focussed on what’s really important to me.
You can read about how to create your own Dream Vision Board and Focus Vision Board in my Law of Attraction Series. Here’s a couple of links that may help to get you started on creating your own dream life: How to Create a Dream Vision Board) and I’ve developed my ‘focus board’ too https://brilliancewithin.com/2016/06/28/5-steps-to-create-your-focus-vision-board/ The picture below shows some of the original pictures I added to my Vision Board, with some ‘actual’ photographs of what has now become a reality…. Vision Boards really do work – as in the words of Napoleon Hill – IT STARTS IN OUR IMAGINATION!!!
Taking on some of the principles suggested by Napoleon Hill have definitely helped me improve the results I’ve experienced in my life.
Why is it then that sometimes I forget them and slip back off course?
As a reminder for myself and hopefully you too, here are some great quotes from Napoleon Hill:
“First comes thought; then organization of that thought, into ideas and plans; then transformation of those plans into reality. The beginning, as you will observe, is in your imagination.”
“Effort only fully releases its reward after a person refuses to quit.”
“There is one quality which one must possess to win, and that is definiteness of purpose, the knowledge of what one wants, and a burning desire to possess it.”

If I haven’t got time to read the book, I also love to listen his words while I’m putting on my makeup in the morning. Here’s a great YouTube clips of him talking about some principles he learned from his mentor Andrew Carnegie, who was one of the richest men in the World at that time and also a great philosopher:
