Am I Human or Inhuman? How I’m dealing with the Manchester Bombing..

I have received lots of lovely messages from the blogging community in recognition that I’m a Manchester Blogger. Thankfully, I haven’t been directly affected by the horrific terrorist attack in Manchester and my heart truly bleeds for those who are impacted by this devastating atrocity. I cannot begin to imagine what they are going through…

However, as a family we are going through a personal and very close loss as a beautiful elderly relative is extremely ill in hospital. I know that my friends will understand that at this incredibly sad time, I won’t be posting and therefore my ‘Confidence’ series will be on hold for the next few weeks. I have been touched deeply by the well wishes I’ve received – Thank You!!!

I’ll be in touch soon and in the meantime, I add my view following the very ‘close to home’ Manchester Bombing, which is very simply to share love and not hatred.

The people who colluded together to devastate our community are simply ‘inhuman’ .. We should remember our personal humanity to each other regardless of race or religion.. we are all just humans sharing one planet in a vast Universe. I for one will remember my true humanity at this sad time..

And in that spirit.. I send you my love!

Hi Wendy, you know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers at this time. As for the tragedy in Manchester, my heart aches for the loss of innocent lives. I refuse to dwell on hatred though and instead I choose to focus on love, hope and peace. That’s what I wish for you my friend. xo

I send you love at your sad time. I am very very sorry to hear that you have a loved one making their last journey in this life. Your words about the diabolical event in Manchester are well-said and well-received. I am currently on my way back from a lightning fast trip to Liverpool where the kindness and generosity of strangers abounded. That is human kindness and it is all around us. The only way to honour the innocent lives lost is to practice precisely that. Go softly my friend, you are in my thoughts. Xx

Thank you so much Osyth.. Sadly for us, my mother in law died yesterday and whilst we miss her lovely smile already, we have shared a beautiful journey with her as she made her transition from life on earth to her new life in heaven… Thank you for sharing your love and kindness with myself and the world – this is definitely what our purpose on life should be – to share love and kindness to our fellow humans and to remind ourselves of true humanity… Thank you Osyth – when we open our eyes, we can see it all around us! xxx

Wendy, I have been away for a few days, hence the tardy response. I am truly and deeply sorry for your sad loss. Your husband, you, all of your mother-in-laws loved ones must be very very sad. My hope is that out of the sadness you will soon find the strength that she brought to you all and that you will nestle her close to your hearts as you carry on your journeys. May you find your way peacefully through your grief and may her spirit lighten yours in due time. Take good care. I send love xx

Oh Osyth – that’s such a beautiful thing to say… Thank you so much! It’s impossible not to smile when we think about Doreen as she continued to smile a heart melting smile to her very end – as she had throughout her life. What a lovely thing to be remembered for.. smiling and having fun… Much love to you Osyth xxx

The very BEST things to be remembered for xx By the way, I found great comfort in Beth Nielson Chapman’s song ‘I Find Your Love’ here it is if you don’t have it already:

Oh my goodness. that’s beautiful.. I can’t say I didn’t shed a tear when I listened to this but it was a ‘lovely’ tear.. Thank you so much!! xx

The first time I heard it was just after my father died – Terry Wogan played it on the radio and I had to pull the car over because I couldn’t see for a torrent of tears. That was more than 14 years ago. Something’s are with us forever. Like your dear mum-in-law xx

Yes that’s very true Osyth.. memories can’t be taken away thank goodness. I lost my dad when he was only 62, so I feel very lucky that Bryan and I had our mums around for another 20+ years.. Losing my dad had a big impact – as I can tell losing your dad did too.. Much love my friend and thank you so much for your thoughtfulness!! xxx
