When is the Perfect Time?

When is the Perfect Time?

When is the perfect time to make your dreams become a reality, or to make the change you need to make?

At the start of the year many of us are creating our Vision Boards, writing down our Goals for the future or we’re already aware of changes we should be making – maybe they were on our ‘resolution list’ for last year. So when is the ‘right time’ to start making the change or turning our dreams into reality?

Are you waiting for the ‘time to be right’?……

Will the right time ever arrive if you wait for something to happen or you wait for  ‘a sign’…

Are you putting off making a decision because you’re waiting for something to show you it’s going to be the ‘right decision’?

If so, it’s ‘time’ to stop procrastinating and take action instead?

Waiting for ‘the right time’ can sometimes make us feel even more uncertain and unsure about whether we’re doing the right thing and we start to doubt ourselves.

I heard recently of the ‘5 Second Rule’.. apparently, when you get a ‘great idea’, if you don’t take some action – even if it’s just writing it down within 5 seconds, the subconscious brain ‘kicks in’ and the ‘negative committee’ in our head will start to remind us of all the reasons why we shouldn’t make the change and should stay ‘fixed’ in our ‘comfy slippers’ that in reality may not be comfy at all… but are just what we’re used to….

Have you ever had a brilliant idea and then after a few minutes, you start to come up with all the reasons why it’s not such a good idea and you end up pushing the idea to the back of your mind, only to later see that someone else has had the same ‘brilliant idea’ and made a real success of it?

The difference between success and failure against our ‘brilliant ideas’ is the difference between ‘action and ‘inaction’..

The old saying “There’s no time like the present” may actually be very wise indeed…

Taking some action toward your dream is always better than ‘standing still’ and taking no action..

Even taking a tiny step forward, helps to inspire greater confidence and belief that your dream is achievable. Confidence breeds confidence and the route toward success is ever more promising.

However, on the opposite path, a lack of action leads to more doubts and fears.. and even less action and eventually you ‘give up’ on your dreams or hold yourself in a ‘fixed’ position.

Maybe you’re so busy waiting that you miss the opportunities that are out there waiting for you to open your eyes… to adjust to ‘periphery’ rather than ‘tunnel’ vision.

Imagine your driving along and you look in your wing mirror and you don’t see anything coming in the outside lane, you indicate to move out and then suddenly realise that there is a car alongside you… it was travelling in your ‘blind spot’.. The other car was there all the time but you just didn’t see it.

Well it can be the same for the ‘opportunities’ that are waiting for you to see.

Don’t just look straight ahead – open your eyes and look to the side and always be aware of your ‘blind spot’… Waiting for the Perfect Time could be holding you fixed in a place where your missing all the opportunities that are there all the time but you’re just not observing them!

So when is the perfect time?

It’s NOW!!!

Think about some of the goals and dreams you’ve written down or put on your Vision Board, or the ‘change’ you’ve been putting off and think of one small action you could take that would start your journey……

and then TAKE IT!

Absolutely Osyth.. strike while the iron is hot! I went on a great free training day today, which reinforced this message very strongly so I’m really inspired to ‘take action’ right now! Onward and upward.. Hope your well Osyth.. I’m not going to be around much for the next couple of days but will have a good catch up next week.. xx

Oh yes, this is so true and I’ve been guilty of it myself many times. Letting opportunities pass by, being scared to step out of my comfort zone, of failure. But you’re so right Wendy, if we don’t grab those opportunities or ride with the inspiration when it hits we’ll possibly lose the chance. And I don’t want that anymore. Here’s to taking chances and moving ahead in 2017. Thanks for the inspiration. xo

Absolutely Miriam.. me too… I’m determined that I’m not going to look back ‘in my last September’ with regret for the things I didn’t do.. Exciting times and opportunities are waiting for us – my tunnel vision glasses are definitely off forever… in fact they are well and truly in the bin! x

I have been for the last few days – you’re right Bella.. I had a difficult meeting (workwise) earlier in the week and am ‘moving on’.. so they are as much a reminder to myself of where I need to be focussing etc. too! xx

This is good advice, and something I talk about on my own blog. When starting with something like a new diet, it makes sense to pick a start date to get rid of the old foods you can no longer eat, get the proper ingredients, plan for meals, etc. But outside of that, change can begin immediately, and that’s what I advocate!
