How Do You Like My New Red Lipstick?

How Do You Like My New Red Lipstick?

I came back from holiday to a lovely little surprise parcel from Christian Dior… A sample of their new range of Matte lipsticks in Rouge 999. I would remind you at this point that I’m not affiliated to Dior but having spent a fortune on their counter in John Lewis, Cheadle recently, my name is clearly registered in their computers as ‘worth sending a tester too as she’s a ‘sucker’ for makeup!!”…..

Although it’s described as matte, I think it does have a slight sheen and therefore doesn’t feel as dry as some matte lipsticks do. It feels quite creamy and moist on the lips. I have to say I like it and after an hour or so, it’s still going strong..

This will definitely be a keeper and one I’ll be wearing to those Xmas Parties… sorry – I know you don’t want to think about Xmas yet but time is passing quickly and it will soon be upon us.

I think I may even upgrade from the ‘tester’ size to the real deal – they say size doesn’t matter but in this case I need more!

(now here I almost wrote “I told you I was a sucker”….then I realised how rude it sounded… so I took it out…. then I laughed! so hey ho…I can’t help it if I’ve got a ‘naughty’ sense of humour!)

I thought I’d show you how it looks. Let me know what you think in the comments below..

I love most shades of red. The one I wear the most is by Marc Jacobs!

I’ve never tried Marc Jacobs makeup but I know my niece who’s a makeup artist loves it… I’ll have a look next time I’m makeup shopping (due a trip soon).. xx

It’s indeed pretty – when I try bright colors, they seem to stain the outline of my mouth darker than lips. Am currently in love with Boom by Cindy Joseph, which goes on cheeks as well.

I’m glad you like it. I’ll keep a look out for the Cindy Joseph lippy too.. x
