I wrote a poem a while ago about the increasing use of Botox and having that feeling that I’m become the ‘freak’ by opting to stick with the wrinkles.
Recently, I’ve noticed that many young people who are only in their later teens/early 20’s, are now feeling the need to zap their character lines with fillers and botox. This seems to be affecting both male and female youngsters who are seeking the ‘perfect’ face and body.
Take a look at the poem I posted previously Let the world see the real you!
I’d love to hear what you think and whether you’ve noticed this increasing trend or maybe you are a young person who has felt they have to fill the laughter lines – I’d really love to understand why you feel this way?
I can’t help but wonder if we will be hearing in a few years about the devastating physical impact pumping our bodies with poison will have.
I’d love to understand this trend better – let me know what you think…
I really like expressive, smiley, kind faces-wrinkles and all.
Me too – although when I saw the wrinkles round my eyes on the photo accompanying my latest ‘lipstick’ post I did think twice !! haha… xx
I much prefer wrinkles and people to look like themselves. Oh … and to be able to be facially expressive lol
Me Too! I’m glad I’m not the only ‘freak’ .. haha! x
I never used it. 😉
Me neither.. thank goodness! You can’t beat a bit of a character line… x
No! It’s a poison that KILLS in the wrong part of the body! Your face is a reflection of the life you’ve lived, what you’ve come through and who you are.Do you remember that line from “Shirley Valentine”…something about stretch marks being lines of love..not quite the same but you see my point…lol!
It’s so true – I completely agree – we need to see some character on our faces! Thanks so much for reading and commenting. Sorry about the delayed response, I’ve just got back from a week’s camping trip with very limited internet access and which definitely added a few ‘character lines’ to my face – hehe! x
Lol! No you said in an earlier post you’d gone camping- I hope the weather was reasonable for you!
We had a few lovely days ….. HOWEVER – last night has to have been the worst night I’ve ever spent camping since I was a child – I don’t think I managed more than 1 hour sleep with the horrific gale force winds which nearly blew the tent down and when we dared to get up at first light this morning, there were several tents that hadn’t survived the night! Yes definitely a few added character lines today… We still laughed though x
We’re getting the gale force winds today…large tree outside our house nearly bent double with it! Still, you’re back home safely : )x
That was our tent last night – I’m not joking either – it literally bent down to the ground with the strength of the wind! – Happy Days.. and a bit of bad language…. oops! x
Oh dear..! : )x
haha – we survived to tell the tale – and so did the tent! x
ps – hope you don’t end up with any damage.. x
There wasn’t when I left..!
Phew! x
I think I just read something about botox traveling within the body to other places than where it was injected and creating problems, like the brain and central nervous system
Yikes – I’m not surprised and all the youngsters who are using it haven’t got a clue how they may be affected… Thanks so much for reading and commenting – I’ve just got back from a week away camping (adding some more lines to my face haha! ) and had very limited access to the internet.. Have a lovely weekend! x
More lines, haha, you are cute!
Yep – definitely a few more wrinkles showing some ‘extra character’ ….. x
Exactly! <3
