I love to celebrate success – mine and other peoples and I am delighted that I have now received 1337 likes on my Brilliance Within Blog posts and thanks to all those who have taken the time to read and press like as I really do appreciate every single one.
However… Here’s the BUT….
Thanks WordPress for sending me this milestone but it got me thinking – Why?
Why is 1337 a number to be highlighted as an achievement?
Why not 1340 or 1300 or 1350 or even 1400?
Is it just me or is 1337 Likes a very random number to have as a milestone?
Maybe it says something about me that I’m perturbed by the randomness of this number to celebrate as a milestone so I’d love to hear from any of you psychologists (amateur or professional) out there that can give me a clue as to why this makes me feel a bit strange?
Am I stuck in a limiting ‘thought pattern’ of expecting to celebrate the ‘even number milestones’ and is it just me that feels this way?
When I attend meetings in the same meeting room, I tend to pick the same side of the table to sit and I occasionally force myself out of my ‘comfort zone’ to sit on the opposite side but when I do, it really does feel very strange..
I know it’s good to change and push oneself out of the comfort zone so I do make myself do things to ‘break the habits’, so do you think WordPress are pushing us out of our Comfort Zones with these random milestones or am I missing the relevance of this number?
If this is the case then – THANKS WordPress! It’s worked…. I’m out of my Comfort Zone – This Mancunian Blogger is uncomfortable!!! HELP…..

I have no idea. I didn’t even know they did this kind of thing until someone else mentioned she had an email about reaching 100 followers. I am nowhere near that many, but I’m just having fun!
I think that’s the key – just have fun and let it build in it’s own time. I worried at first as you see some people growing their blogs to 1000’s of followers within a very short period of time – not sure how they manage that so I gave up thinking about it and it comes as a nice surprise when I get a reminder from WordPress that things are progressing.. xx

I had no idea about the ‘elite’ thing either. But, still, why is it set at 1337? Maybe it’s just to make us all talk to each other about it?! Congratulations though – whatever the reason it is a lot of likes!!
