Working very long days, often without any breakfast or lunch, getting home after 9 or 10 p.m. and then eating rubbish – Does this sound familiar?
Well take heed because for me it’s finally happened – Having worked in this way for too long, I’ve just received the news that on top of my existing high blood pressure, I’ve now got type 2 diabetes! Why has it taken this diagnosis to make me stop and take stock and to finally realise that I’ve been in an abusive relationship with my job?
This news is a massive reality check and definitely the kick I needed to review how I’m living my life. Yes it’s time for me to make some major life changes which are clearly long overdue!
I’m starting a new and caring relationship – with myself.
Follow my journey as I set out to lose 3 stone and to eat healthily in an attempt to bring my diabetes under control. I’m determined to try and avoid the need to take medication which has been recommended – I really don’t fancy adding more pills to my daily routine.
I’ve always loved the saying: “A Journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”
So the 1st March 2016 represents my first step along a new pathway and the start of my new journey to live a healthier life.
It would be great to hear from you if you’ve faced a similar journey and any tips or recipes would be gratefully received….
